Guppedu Manasu (Telugu: గుప్పెడు మనసు) is a 1979 Telugu film directed by K. Balachander and starring Sarath Babu, Sujatha and Saritha in prominent roles. It was a bi-lingual film made simultaneousy into Tamil as Nool Veli (1979). The film was a remake of the Malayalam film Aa Nimikasham. Kamal Haasan does a guest role in both Tamil and Telugu versions.
Eminent musicologist Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna gave his melodious voice to a song Mouname Nee Basha O Mooga Manasa penned by Acharya Atreya. It elegantly describes the various aspects of Manasu, the Soul. It aptly describes the mental condition of the key roles.

The story deals with the crisis of a middle-aged person (Sarath Babu). He treats a young girl (Sarita) as his daughter. He succumbs to his temptations of weakness and impregnates her in the process. Does he accept the responsibility, marry her, and father their child? Does his relationship with the wife (Sujatha) continues in the same way? What would be the condition of the girl taken advantage by a man at a tender age?
Incest is dealt in this film with a more matured, emotional and an intelligent way. In spite of all the advancements and the evolution that man has gone, but when it comes to the pleasurable senses, his animal instincts get the better of him, regardless of his stature, position and condition.
